Cats do miss people

Do dogs miss people? Of course they do! But what about cats? The way in which dogs express their happiness or sadness is simply much more straightforward.
As it turns out, the seemingly aloof cat can miss people as well. It may lead to what is described as separation anxiety disorder, which, if ignored, may have serious consequences.
Most commonly, separation anxiety disorder develops from a strong emotional attachment to the owner and the symptoms can be observed when the pet is left home alone.
Unfortunately, nowadays many people are required to work long hours, with most part of the day spent away from home. Their absence makes cats suffer from loneliness. The main symptoms of this emotional disorder include: cats urinating or defecating outside of the litter tray (of course if this behaviour is not caused by a physical illness) but also depression. Both symptoms may be dangerous.
How to prevent them?
Here is our advice: right before leaving and coming back home, try ignoring your cat and pretend you do not see him/her. We realise that this can be difficult and heartbreaking but remember – it can help your cat..jpg)
Perhaps you should also consider getting another cat? They will always keep each other company when you are away – we have personally experienced it, and so have our friends. We would much rather observe the special bond between our cats and admire their extraordinary playfulness than watch even the most interesting film on TV. Humans can learn so much from them.
